5.4

A successful summit requires careful planning, knowledge of routes and terrain, fitness, and the correct equipment. For many climbers, this experience begins on a Class 5.4 (Yosemite Decimal System) climb. Class 5.4 involves relatively secure climbing, with two hand and two footholds available for every move.

The 5.4 program is designed to give nonprofit organizations the assistance necessary to begin or continue their journey to the summit. This allows Columbia to assist a large number of worthy organizations through support of small projects that are of special importance to those applicants and their communities. Applications are accepted online throughout the year.

Deadline:
Applications are accepted online throughout the year. Proposals are reviewed as they are received.
